Search warrant leads to Felony drug charges for Merrill man

Following the execution of a search warrant on Wednesday, April 4, at a Cotter Street residence, 41-year-old Dino Ray Townsend of Merrill was taken into custody on multiple charges as a repeat offender; related to the possession and distribution of Methamphetamine.
Townsend appeared in Lincoln County Circuit Court on Friday, April 6, facing Felony charges of Possession of Amphetamine with Intent to Deliver, (Second and Subsequent Offense/Possession with Intent to Deliver/Distribute a Controlled Substance On or Near a School-Modifier); Possession of Methamphetamine related paraphernalia (Second and subsequent offense); Possession of THC (2nd+ Offense) and Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place (Second and subsequent offense).
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office, the search warrant executed by law enforcement yielded 12.4 grams of Methamphetamine, 2.4 grams of Marijuana along with various plastic bags, pipes and a digital scale. The modifier was added due to Townsend’s residence being located within 1,000 feet of a nearby elementary school.

According to court records, Townsend has previous Methamphetamine related cases dating back to 2015. He remains in the custody of the Lincoln County Jail on $10,000 cash bond.
