Parkside Pre-School Center recently announced its 5-star rating in the state’s Youngstar Program, for the second consecutive year.
As Parkside director Paula Koelsch explains, the school’s commitment to local families is the driving force behind participation in the Youngstar program.
“With heartfelt commitment to helping our Merrill area families afford quality early childhood care and education, we enthusiastically embrace participation in Youngstar, Wisconsin’s quality rating system for early childhood programs. The Youngstar design offers fiscal incentives to programs that meet higher quality standards and have current ‘Wisconsin Shares’ authorizations.
“Another way we help families afford quality early childhood care and education is by allocating the entirety of our United Way grant monies, toward scholarships for low-income families with tuition co-payments,” she adds.
The five-star rating is the highest achievement possible in the Youngstar rating system. The achievement marks the main Parkside campus located at 207 E. First St., the highest Youngstar rated, state licensed, group early care and learning program in the community.
Parkside has been participating in the Youngstar program since 2011.
