The snow storm on Monday created problems for driving. A bridge outside of Gleason will undergo major repairs after it was struck. A 20-year-old Gleason woman slid on some ice and struck the bridge on Prairie Forks Drive destroying one of the railings. The Town of Russell provided temporary repairs once the vehicle was removed, no one was injured.

Tuesday morning a deputy recovered a stolen vehicle while checking on a stalled vehicle on USH 51. The deputy found the vehicle was reported stolen earlier that morning by a Merrill resident. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the investigation was turned over to Merrill Police.

A 27-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a warrant charge in the Town of Bradley. Deputies went to a home after authorities in Marathon County asked them to search for the man. The warrants were for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

A 21-year-old Merrill woman was injured after a single vehicle crash early Thursday morning in the Town of Bradley. Tomahawk EMS, Tomahawk Firefighters and deputies responded to County Rd. E at Alery Road after the vehicle was reported off the road at 1:30 a.m. The vehicle left the road and struck a large power pole. The woman was transported to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

A 48-year-old Merrill man was injured Thursday afternoon in a logging accident in the Town of Pine River when a tree fell and caused a leg injury. The man was transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A 38-year-old Irma man was arrested Saturday afternoon after deputies responded to a disturbance in the Town of Russell. The incident was reported just before noon off of County Rd. J. The man was taken into custody on a battery charge.

A 66-year-old Tomahawk man was injured Saturday evening after a snowmobile crash on the Spirit River off of Anchor Bay when the man struck a snow bank and rolled his snowmobile. He was transported to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital before being transferred to Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The driver was wearing a helmet and alcohol was not a factor.

A 22-year-old Merrill man was arrested and will face several citations after deputies investigated a single vehicle crash Saturday evening in the Town of Schley. At 10:40 p.m., a cell caller reported a vehicle had left the roadway and struck a power pole on State Rd. 17 at County Rd. C which knocked down power lines. The driver was cited for a first offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was also cited for other offenses related to hit and run. The man was also booked into the Lincoln County Jail on a drug charge after he admitted ownership of marijuana which was found in the vehicle.

The number of car deer crashes has decreased as compared to previous weeks with only six being reported this past week.
