Merrill Police reports

January 8
6 p.m.- An officer was advised of male party who had an active warrant for his arrest due to violating rules of his probation. The male party was located and was arrested.

January 9
11:58 a.m.- A caller reported the theft of a package from his mailbox.
5:51 p.m.- Officers received information that a 17-year-old male was at a residence that was listed as missing/runaway. Officers received permission to enter the residence from the tenants. The male attempted to climb out of a window but was met by an officer on the other side of that window. He then barricaded himself in a closet by pushing a freezer against the door. Entry was made and he was arrested for resisting an officer. A methamphetamine pipe and methamphetamine was located in his pocket. He was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

January 10
10:35 a.m.- An officer responded to a trespassing complaint. The caller advised his employee located two individuals removing items from outside the building which did not belong to them. The individuals stated a previous employee gave them permission to take the items. Investigation is ongoing.

January 11
7:36 a.m.- Officers responded to a disorderly conduct complaint. The individual was making vulgar statements. The individual was cited for disorderly conduct.
2:51 p.m.- A male came into the Police Department and reported a theft. The suspect has been identified and the case ongoing investigation.
8:53 p.m.- An officer was dispatched to a theft complaint. An ongoing investigation is occurring.
