A winter storm originally projected to bypass to the west of Lincoln County now looks to deliver a glancing blow to the region beginning Thursday morning.
At 2:43 PM the National Weather Service office in Green Bay issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Oneida and Lincoln Counties from 6 AM Thursday morning through 6 PM Thursday evening.
According to the alert issued by the NWS; .”A storm system traveling across northern Wisconsin will bring rain to the area tonight, which will change to snow Thursday as colder air returns to the region. Several inches of snow areexpected, which will produce hazardous travel conditions.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 6 PM CST THURSDAY

Rain changing to snow in the morning and continuing into the afternoon. Plan on slippery road conditions. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can
be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

A winter weather advisory in place for Taylor County has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning, whereas 4-6″ inches of snowfall are expected through the day Thursday.

The Merrill Foto News will continue to monitor and post updates as they are announced.
