On Thursday, Jan. 11, the Merrill baseball association will be holding sing-ups at Les & Jim’s from 6-8 p.m.
For kids playing coach pitch (7 & 8 year-olds) it will cost $50, kids playing in the 10U Little League (Minor) it will cost $60 and for kids playing in the 12U Little League (Major) it will cost $60. Little League age is determined as of Aug. 31 of the current year. So if you were born on or after Sept. 1, 2005 you are eligible to play Little League baseball.
For kids interested in singing up for traveling baseball the cost for the 9U team is $60, the cost for 10U, 11U, 12U is $120, and for 13U and 14U it will cost $135. Teams will be formed after sign ups and there may be tryouts based on the number of boys that sign up. Travel age is determined by the player’s age as of May 1. There is also a required uniform deposit of $100.
