MAPS announces first BlueJay Star of the Quarter

The MAPS Employee Recognition Committee is proud to announce its first BlueJay Star of the Quarter – Carey Kerchefski, Special Education Aide at Kate Goodrich Elementary.

MAPS recently formed an Employee Recognition Committee and one of the new programs recognizes employees as a BlueJay Star of the Quarter. Candidates are nominated by their peers. Committee members review nominations with the names removed and vote anonymously for their top candidates. A “surprise crew” came to Carey’s school to announce her as the winner and present awards to her.

“As a learning organization, it is always a pleasure to be able to recognize staff,” said Dr. John Sample, MAPS Superintendent. “It becomes very significant when recipients are recognized by their peers.”

Carey was nominated for her ongoing dedication to the students at Kate Goodrich Elementary and the extra effort she puts forth in working with special education students. She is known for going the extra mile and helping to ensure the numerous programs at Kate continue to run smoothly.
