The Holy Cross Sisters invite the public to join them for a prayer service on Sunday, December 10, International Human Rights Day. This event will start at 4:30 p.m. in Holy Cross Chapel at Bell Tower Residence, 1500 O’ Day St,, Merrill.
International Human Rights Day is observed every year on Dec. 10 – the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
According to Sister Pat Cormack, provincial for the Holy Cross Sisters USA Province headquarter in Merrill, “Given what has been happening in our country this past year, we are called to reflect on human rights in the United States.”
The Declaration sets out universal rights and a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations.
