Merrill Police reports

October 9
10:43 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
5:50 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to a suspicious person complaint in the 900 block of E. 5th Street. Reporting party stated that a male was in his yard and looking through the windows of his vehicle and when he went to make contact the male fled. Contacts made with the suspect who was advised that they could not being doing this and if it occurred again they could be taken into custody for trespassing.

October 11
1:02 p.m.- A caller reported someone attempting to enter a boarded up residence that is scheduled for demolition. Officers located the man who was found to be intoxicated. He admitted he was attempting to enter the property to “explore like Indiana Jones.” He was warned against trespassing as well as the potential safety hazard should he make entry.
3:47 p.m.- A caller reported someone had used her debit card to make unauthorized purchases. Investigation is ongoing.
4:40 p.m.- A caller reported sometime overnight someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole some property. Investigation is ongoing.
9:58 p.m.- An officer on patrol heard a vehicle squealing its tires coming from a business parking lot. The officer located the vehicle and spoke with the driver. The officer could smell intoxicants coming from the vehicle. The driver admitted to drinking one beer. The driver was able to complete field sobriety tests satisfactorily. He was also found to be on probation. He was cited for underage drinking, disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle, operating without insurance and arrested for a probation violation as he is not to consume any intoxicants.

October 12
4:05 p.m.- An officer responded to a fraud complaint. The caller had reported unauthorized uses on their debit card. Investigation is ongoing.

October 13
10:43 a.m.- Officers were dispatched to Probation and Parole office. Officers took one male into custody for a probation violation.
10:02 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 1800 block of E. 1st Street. Two male parties were involved in a verbal argument which turned physical. One male party was taken into custody for domestic related battery. The other male party was taken into custody for domestic related disorderly conduct.

October 14
1:31 a.m.- Officers were dispatched to an establishment on East Second Street for a report of an altercation that had taken place. The parties involved were identified and the investigation is ongoing.
