First Street Coffee Station to open inside Park City

What has become a staple for fresh coffee, delicious soups, and panini sandwiches in the heart of downtown Merrill, First Street Coffee Station announces plans to open a second location inside Park City Credit Union’s new headquarters. The café will occupy 2,500 square feet of the 26,000 square-foot headquarters that is under construction.

Rated No. 1 in Merrill by TripAdvisor for coffee and tea, First Street Coffee Station will maintain its own hours of operation and have its own drive-thru window at the new headquarters scheduled to open in late summer 2018. The café is owned by local couple, Don and Dawn Swan.

“From the start, we envisioned having a café/bistro as part of our new headquarters,” said Val Mindak, President and CEO of Park City. “The idea of a community coffee shop fits very well with our culture. We want our new headquarters to be a place for the community to gather.”

Designed by Milwaukee-based La Macchia Group LLC, the new headquarters will have an open, modern design and will feature a 100-seat community room equipped with audiovisual equipment. Park City will offer this space to nonprofit and community organizations for meetings and other events.

Both Mindak and the Swans are excited about the new partnership.

“Dawn and Don Swan have done a fabulous job in creating an atmosphere where everyone knows your name,” Mindak said.

Don added, “We look forward to a successful relationship with Park City Credit Union and believe that their new building will become a community hub for Merrill. Their community dedication is one of the main reasons we are so thrilled about this partnership.”
