Monday afternoon, the Merrill Police Department announced Off-Street Parking restrictions will be effective and enforced as of 1 AM Tuesday December 6, 2016.
Restrictions entail:
*No parking being allowed on city streets between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. from 1 Am Tuesday December 6 thru March 31.
*From 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., odd/even parking is required, which means on even-numbered calendar days, vehicles are to be parked on the even-numbered side of the street and on odd-numbered calendar days, vehicles are to be parked on the odd side of the street.
*The exception to odd/even parking occurs on streets where other restrictions normally exist.
The ordinance took effect as scheduled on Thursday, December 1st. However, due to lack of significant, accumulating snowfall the department postponed enforcement of the ordinance.
