Virginia “Ginny” Oestreich, age 76, of Merrill, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill. She was born on May 21, 1940 in Merrill to Raymond and Dorothy (Nuehring) Mussell. On February 26, 1965, Ginny and Lloyd Oestreich were united in marriage, a union lasting over 38 years. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2003.
Ginny graduated from Merrill Senior High School. She worked at Wal-Mart as a cashier for the last 27 years. Ginny was a member of the local Red Hats, Scatter Hatters, and the Red Hat Mama’s, she also enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was very involved with the Children’s Miracle Network and loved traveling. Ginny always found time to spend with her grandchildren who meant the world to her. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her two sons: Tim (Emmy) Oestreich, Marinette, and Mike (Glenda) Oestreich, Rhinelander; three grandchildren: Logan, Allie, and Grace; mother: Dorothy Mussell, Merrill; sister: Carol (Jerry) Chieves, Merrill; and brother: Don (Linda) Mussell, Fond du Lac; brother-in-law: Ronald(Kathy) Oestreich, Merrill; sister-in-law: Marcella Oestreich, Merrill; and dear friends, Nona Zortman and Fern Isaacson, and many more friends, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, and father, Raymond Mussell.
Funeral services for Ginny will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 11am, at Trinity Lutheran church in Merrill. Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Visitation will be from 1-4pm on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the church, an again on Monday morning starting at 10 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Snow Hill Cemetery.
