Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp and Department of Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett kicked-off this year’s nine-day gun deer season last Friday at Tomahawk’s 51st annual Venison Feed in downtown Tomahawk.

Secretary Klett, the reigning “Venison Queen,” reluctantly handed her crown over to Secretary Stepp during this year’s event.

osted by the Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce, the Venison Feed is a celebration held the day before hunting season opens where hunters, visitors and townspeople can swap hunting stories, and enjoy meeting old friends over “free venison burgers until they’re gone.”
