A Tomahawk man charged in connection with the death of a 23-day-old infant was ordered held Wednesday on a $50,000 cash bond.
As a result of an investigation by the Tomahawk Police Department, 20-year-old Henry R. Hughes, of Tomahawk, faces felony charges of First Degree Reckless Homicide and Physical Abuse of a Child.
During Hughes’ initial court appearance Wednesday afternoon, Lincoln County Assistant District Attorney Kurt Zengler requested the cash bound amount because he considers Hughes a flight risk. Taylor County Judge Gary Carlson, filling in for Lincoln County Judge Jay Tlusty, ordered the cash bond.
Elvins stated that this investigation is still ongoing and further charges may be filed at a later date.
