Fall book sale at the library

The leaves are crunching and a chill is in the air. Fall is here and that means it’s time for the annual Fall Book Sale, sponsored by the Friends of the T.B. Scott Library. The book closet is jam-packed, so it’s time to harvest some good deals. There will be a cornucopia of books, CDs and DVDs, most just 50 cents.

Friends of the T.B. Scott Library are invited to the preview sale on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 6–7:45 p.m. Enjoy some candy corn and other snacks to celebrate National Friends of Libraries week – celebrate yourself.

If you’re not yet a friend of the T.B. Scott Library, an annual membership is only $5. Being a friend of the library allows you to shop the book sales on preview night, before the public sale and is a fantastic way to support our magnificent T.B. Scott Free Library.

If you’re a Friend of the Marathon County Public Library, you’re also welcome on Thursday the 27th, as T.B. Scott have a reciprocal agreement with our neighbors to the south. Just bring your membership card.

The sale to the general public runs from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, in the library’s Community Room and includes books, audiobooks, music and videos culled by the library as well as materials donated by community members, including children’s and young adult items.

Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. will be the day to bag a bountiful harvest – gather a bag of books, etc. for just $2. It’s a perfect opportunity to “squirrel away” some cozy books for winter reading.
