Merrill man faces felony drug charges

Ross A. Johnson, 42 of Merrill-was charged October 6 with Felony charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of THC and a Misdemeanor charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. According to court records, Johnson was involved in a traffic stop in the city of Merrill on September 21. During the stop, a search of Johnson’s vehicle by  the Merrill Police Department’s K9 unit led to the discovery of a glass pipe containing marijuana.
Upon further investigation, Johnson was found to have discarded items prior to the traffic stop.
Officers returned to the location of the stop on September 23 and reportedly discovered a plastic bag containing a white crystalized substance, which later tested positive for Methamphetamine. Another plastic bag was discovered in close proximity to the first, containing marijuana.
