Unexpected visitor drops in on city’s west side

Residents in the 200 block of Pine Street were greeted by a rather unexpected visitor Sunday afternoon.
As resident Scott Swiechowski explained, just as the Packer-Lions game was breaking for half time he heard his dog suddenly begin to bark outside in the family’s fenced in yard.
“I walked out to see what he was barking at and when I looked up in the tree, there he was.”
The visitor, a young black bear cub, had slipped through the fencing in Swiechowski’s yard and apparently met an unexpected encounter of it’s own, upon encountering Swiechowski’s dog.
Swiechowski brought his dog into his home and watched as the cub eventually made it’s way down the tree and soon scurried up another.
By evening, reports surfaced on social media of the cub’s mother being spotted in the area and as of Monday morning, the young explorer had apparently continued on it’s originally scheduled tour.
