A 20-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested Monday evening on drug charges after a traffic stop in the Town of King. At 7:30, a deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding. When contact was made with the driver, the deputy could smell the odor of marijuana. The man was brought to the Lincoln County Jail where he was charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

A 49-year-old Gleason man was arrested Tuesday morning on a felony charge after a deputy found a vehicle parked in the middle of the road in the Town of Schley at 3:49 a.m. When contact was made with the driver, he was found to be sleeping behind the wheel. He refused to do field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for a sixth offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Deputies recovered a stolen vehicle on Tuesday evening just after 9 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Lincoln Drive just east of US Hwy. 51. When deputies arrived, they found the green 2008 Hyundai Sonata in the ditch. When a check was done on the registration, it was found that the vehicle was stolen out of Waushara County. A 36-year-old Prentice woman was injured after a two vehicle crash on Wednesday evening north of Tomahawk. Just before 8 p.m., multiple cell callers reported that two passenger cars had collided at US Hwy. 8 at County Rd. L. She was transported by Tomahawk EMS to Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The Tomahawk Fire Department assisted at the scene.

A 39-year-old Merrill woman was injured on Thursday evening after striking a deer with her moped in the Town of Scott. The driver was traveling west on State Rd. 64 at Mill Road when she struck the animal. She was transported to Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A 54-year-old Tomahawk man was taken into custody early Saturday evening on a traffic charge. A deputy located a motorcycle traveling south on County Rd. S that was traveling 86 MPH. The deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle which had turned onto USH 51, by the time it reached County Rd. V it was traveling in excess of 100 MPH. The driver was asked to perform field sobriety tests and as a result he was cited for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was later released to a responsible party.

A 50-year-old Stevens Point woman was injured after a single motorcycle crash Saturday evening in the Town of Birch just after 7:30 p.m. She refused medical transport from the Tomahawk Ambulance that responded to the scene, Tomahawk Firefighters also assisted deputies.

Deputies reported a fairly quiet Fall Ride. Traffic remained steady throughout the weekend but very few problems were found and no major crashes were reported.

The number of car deer crashes is up from previous weeks with 12 being reported. A bear was also struck. A deputy located the bear on US Hwy. 51 Thursday evening near County Rd. H.
