In stark contrast to most of the matches, meets, and quads that they have participated in so far this season, Merrill varsity tennis lost 0-7 to Wausau West on Thursday.
For the singles, Megan Peterson of West defeated Lea Beckman, 1-6, 2-6; Emily Names of West defeated Rachel Rell, 1-6, 1-6; Kaomi Yang of West, defeated Sierra Severt, 6-2, 4-6, 0-6 and Mikahla Klug of West ddefeated Maria Grund, 2-6, 2-6.
For the doubles, Sarah Snoeyenbos & Lilia Teske of West defeated Cate Murray & Allison Winter-Reed, 1-6, 0-6; Sidney Engman & Melanie McCluskey of West defeated Olivia Wheat & Sierra Humphrey, 1-6, 6-3, 1-6 and Erin Achatz & Kylie Rennieof West defeated Emma Jaeger & Erin Lemke, 4-6, 2-6.
Merrill varsity tennis will have their next meet on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at the MHS tennis courts where they will face Marshfield.
