Bri Piepenbrok, a Merrill High School graduate (2012) who plays volleyball for UW-Stevens Point, has been selected as the 2016 Women’s Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Piepenbrok, a senior, is a defensive specialist/libero on the Pointers volleyball team as well as Captain. She racked up 76 digs in 13 sets of action at the Saint Mary’s University Sugar Loaf Classic in Winona, Minn. She led the Pointers to a 4-0 start with 5.85 digs per set average, while adding 10 assists and five service aces.
She is majoring in Athletic Training with a minor in Psychology.
Hopes are high for the team and they are currently ranked #15 in the country on the AVCA poll.
