The Merrill Area Public School Board of Education and Merrill Area Public Schools announces that it has selected Karen Baker to be the Director of Special Education/Pupil Services of Merrill Area Public Schools.

“Ms. Baker’s experience in special education and leadership will bring added value to our program here in Merrill,” said Dr. John Sample, Superintendent of the Merrill Area Public Schools, “and we are excited to have her join our team!”

Ms. Baker has most recently served as the Director of Special Education and Pupil Services in Antigo. Her other work experience includes Director of Special Education/Pupil Services in Ashland for four years; and a School to Work Coordinator, EBD teacher and Pupil Services Director for Lakeland Union High School for 14 years.

Ms. Baker replaces Sample, whose position became vacant when he was hired as the Superintendent.
