A 33-year-old Rhinelander man was injured after a single vehicle crash late last Sunday night in the Town of Merrill. He was transported to Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center for treatment of his injuries and there he was cited for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A 20-year-old Merrill man was arrested last Monday evening on a warrant charge. Deputies went to a home in the Town of Merrill after receiving a report of a male trespassing. When deputies arrived the man was taken into custody on a warrant through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for probation violation.

A 17-year-old Irma man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon when a deputy investigated a disturbance at Lincoln Hills School. Staff called the Sheriff’s Office after the incident took place earlier that morning. At least one staff member sought medical treatment. The suspect was brought to the Lincoln County Jail where he was charged with two felony counts of battery by prisoner to two staff members. The suspect has five other open cases at this time in Lincoln County Court. Due to his current court ordered commitment, the suspect was returned to Lincoln Hills School after his initial court appearance.

A 33-year-old Merrill woman was cited following a two vehicle crash late Wednesday night in the Town of Scott. The woman failed to yield from a stop sign and struck another vehicle. During the investigation she showed signs of intoxication and was placed through field sobriety tests. As a result she was cited for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. This case could be upgraded to a criminal charge as the woman has a similar case pending in Marathon County Court.
For the third week in a row the number of car deer crashes remains at four.
