A 54-year-old Tomahawk man was taken into custody last Monday morning after a traffic stop in the City of Tomahawk. A deputy stopped the vehicle man was driving after he witnessed it strike a curb and other unsafe driving. The driver conducted field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was later released to a responsible party.

A 44-year-old Keshena woman was arrested Monday morning on warrant charges. A deputy stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation just before 7 a.m. on State Rd. 64 at Range Line Road in the Town of Pine River. A check on the driver showed she was wanted by the Langlade and Shawano County Sheriff for contempt. The woman was cited for driving on a suspended driver’s license and brought to the county line where she was turned over to a Langlade County deputy.

A 50-year-old Rothschild man was arrested Monday afternoon on a warrant charge. The deputy assigned to security at the Lincoln County Court House took the man into custody and brought him to the Lincoln County Jail. He was released Monday evening after posting a cash bond.

A 48-year-old Hazlehurst man was injured on Monday after an ATV crash in the Town of Birch. At 4:30 a 911 call reported the crash which occurred on Cottrell Avenue when the driver went off the road and rolled his machine. He was not wearing a helmet. The man was brought to Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center before being flown by the Spirit Helicopter to Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital where he is in good condition. The Rec. Deputy is awaiting results of a blood test to determine if any citations will be issued.

A 50-year-old Rib Lake man will be referred to the Lincoln County District Attorney on a misdemeanor bail jumping charge. On Tuesday the man was found guilty in Lincoln County for a third offense drunk driving. A Lincoln County Judge released the man on condition that he continues to follow the rules of his signature bond, one of which that he may not drive without a valid driver’s license. The deputy watched the man walk out of the court and get into a vehicle and drive away from the court, a check showed he does not have a valid driver’s license. The man will be summonsed into court to face the charge.

A strong thunderstorm moved through Lincoln County on Thursday morning resulting in several trees and wires coming down onto roadways. Corning firefighters and deputies checked out two reports, one on County Rd. Z where a power pole was struck by lightning and Tesch Road where a large pine tree got caught up in a branch. Deputies also checked other locations around the Tomahawk area.

A 37-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man was arrested Thursday evening on a warrant charge. Deputies checked on a vehicle in the ditch on County Rd. K south of County Rd. Q in the Town of Scott and found the operator had a warrant through the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department for contempt. He was also cited for having suspended vehicle registration, no insurance and for failing to keep his auto under control.

A 49-year-old Merrill man was arrested Saturday afternoon after a disturbance in the Town of Scott. Deputies learned the man damaged vehicles during an argument. The man was arrested on a felony charge of intimidation of a witness. He will have a bond hearing Monday afternoon in Lincoln County Court.

Two people were injured after a two vehicle crash Saturday evening in the Town of Pine River. Deputies responded to the crash on State Rd. 64 near Ackley Road after it was reported at 5 p.m. Two patients were transported from the scene by the Antigo Fire Department to Langlade Memorial Hospital. Deputies suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash and are awaiting tests results from a 56-year-old Merrill woman. The Pine River Fire Department and First Responders assisted on the scene.

A 37-year-old Merrill man was arrested early Sunday morning on criminal charges related to a disturbance in the Town of Merrill. A 911 caller reported the incident on Prairie Drive and a deputy responding to the scene stopped the suspect on County Rd. G at Johnson Street. The driver was placed through field sobriety tests and was arrested for a third offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was also charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

A 53-year-old Merrill man was cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated early Sunday morning. Deputies responded to an establishment in the Town of Merrill after a caller reported a male underneath a vehicle. They then found the 53-year-old male behind the wheel of the parked vehicle who showed signs of impairment. He was placed through field sobriety tests and was later cited for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

The number of car deer crashes is back down again with only four being reported this past week.
