Lavish week results in felony charges for Merrill man

Orion D. Gutowski, 17, of Merrill, was charged July 15 with Felony-Misappropriation of identifying information to obtain money, 2 counts of Felony Bail jumping and a charge of Misdemeanor Bail jumping.
According to court records, Gutowski was involved in incidents in the city of Merrill between June 25 and July 1 during which he reportedly used a credit card belonging to another individual, without permission. Court records indicate Gutowski used the card to complete transactions totaling $802.48, including transactions for  various hotel stays. While booking the rooms, as much as $253.39 for one booking in particular, Gutowski identified himself as the actual card holder. Gutowski is currently in the custody of the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office on active warrants unrelated to this incident.
