Domestic violence yields multiple felony charges for Merrill man

Christopher S. Hebert, 27 of Merrill– was charged June 28 with Felony charges of Stalking after Domestic Abuse, Burglary and Bail Jumping as well as misdemeanor charges of Contact after Domestic Abuse Arrest and Criminal Damage to Property.
According to court records, on the afternoon of June 28 Hebert was reportedly involved in an incident at a residence in the city of Merrill, in which he reportedly violated a 72-hour no-contact order with a victim stemming from a domestic violence incident several hours prior. Hebert was reportedly released on bond from the Lincoln County Jail then returned to the victim’s home and  forced entry via a back door. Hebert then reportedly ignored initial commands from arriving Merrill officers.
Hebert appeared in court again on June 29 facing charges related to the initial domestic violence incident. On June 29, Hebert was charged with Felony-Strangulation and Suffocation as well as Misdemeanor charges of Battery and Resisting an Officer.
According to court records, easrly morning hours of June 28, Hebert reportedly bit, choked and battered the victim in the case. Upon arrival of Merrill officers, Hebert reportedly repeteadly physically resisted their efforts to take him into custody.
