MAPS announces administrative appointments

 

 

Thursday afternoon, the Merrill Area Public School Board announced it has unanimously selected Dr. John Sample to be Superintendent of the Merrill Area Public Schools. “Dr. John Sample has done a tremendous job as acting superintendent over the last couple months,” said Jen Seliger, president of the Merrill Area Public School Board, “and we are excited to continue to move forward under his leadership. Dr. Sample has served as the District’s Pupil Services & Special Education Director for the last 8 years and finished his doctorate degree in education in 2009, from Edgewood College in Madison.”

Upon the hiring of  Dr. Sample, Gerald Beyer, current Prairie River Middle School (PRMS) Principal, was appointed as the Director of Curriulum & Instruction. Ryan Martinovici, current PRMS Associate Principal, was appointed as the new PRMS Principal.  “I am excited to announce that Gerald Beyer has accepted the position of Director of Curriculum & Instruction and Ryan Martinovici has accepted his new role as the Principal of Prairie River Middle School,” said Dr. John Sample. “The skill set and experience they each possess brings tremendous value to the administrative team. I look forward to the positive impact these two leaders will make.”

Both Beyer and Martinovici have formally accepted the offers, contingent upon reaching an agreement on their employment contracts.
