Tomahawk man faces felony OWI charge following crash with toddler

Henry Robert Hughes, 20 of Tomahawk-was charged June 13 with Felony-Operating While Intoxicated-causing injury to passenger under the age of 16 and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
According to court records, Hughes was reportedly involved in a crash on June 11 on CTH A in rural Lincoln County, along with his 18-month old stepson. During the crash, the toddler sustained bumps and bruises. Hughes reportedly denied consuming alcohol but was found to be intoxicated; unable to complete Standardized Field Sobriety Testing in a satisfactory manner and giving a Preliminary Breath Test result of .171.
Further noted in court records;, Hughes reportedly indicated he had been returning from a birthday party and was also found to be in possession of a corn cob pipe with what was believed to be burnt marijuana residue. The residue later tested positive for THC.
