Merrill Police reports

May 30
7:20 p.m.- Officers responded to a possible domestic incident. Upon arrival, officers could hear children yelling in a playful manner at each other from the apartment window that was open. Contact was made at the residence and it was found the children were wrestling around. The parent advised they would have the children quiet down or close the window.

8:34 p.m.- An officer responded to a local business for a theft complaint. The caller advised a male party had stolen a donation box from the cash register area and fled on foot. Witnesses observed a vehicle speed off from the area. Investigation is ongoing.

May 31
7:35 a.m.- An officer responded to a dog bite complaint. The caller stated a dog jumped out of a window with a broken screen and bit her in the leg. Contact was made with the owner and they were cited for a dog running at large.

12:02 p.m.- An officer responded to a theft complaint. The caller had a GPS unit stolen from his semi-truck. Investigation is ongoing.

June 1
2:39 p.m.- An officer investigated a retail theft at 505 S. Pine Ridge Ave. The male suspect was identified and will be charged with retail theft and bail jumping.

June 2
9:07 a.m.- A male was arrested on a probation violation and was taken to the jail.

12:17 p.m.- An officer investigated a theft complaint in the 2300 block of Jackson Street. The investigation is ongoing.

4:21 p.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violating and was taken to the jail.
