Bluejay varsity baseball lost to SPASH with a final score of 10-0 with Merrill collecting only two hits and committing three errors. Scores aside, Merrill held their own and only allowed SPASH to score during two innings, and it was during those two innings that a few crucial hits were made that allowed SPASH to empty the bases.

The first two innings saw both teams exercise tight fielding and good pitching. Come the top of the third, things turned on Merrill as two consecutive line drives from SPASH allowed five runs to score. Both teams would fall back into tight defense until the top of the seventh when again SPASH would get five more runs.

Collin Grefe and Trevor Asmundsen were the only two Merrill players with a hit. Grefe, along with Dylan Anderson, Jared Schmeltzer and Ryan Golisch, also had a walk. Tyler Belfiori pitched the first 2.2 innings, striking out one, walking four, allowing three hits and five runs-all earned. Grefe pitched the rest of the game, striking out two, walking one, allowing five hits and five runs-none earned.

Golisch lead the fielding effort with eight putouts. Other top fielders include Hoff with four putouts, Dan Duginski and Dylan Anderson with three putouts each, Asmundsen with a putout and six assists, Schmeltzer with a putout and an assist and Christian Halbach with one putout.
