Louis “Louie” Spychalla

Louis “Louie” Spychalla, of the town of Antigo, died Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center, after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends. He was 80 years old. He was born on March 2, 1936 in Antigo, a son of Stanley and Rose (Eron) Spychalla.

He operated the family Dairy farm in the Town of Antigo until 1986, at which time he changed to potato farming. He retired in 1998.

Louie was a lifetime member of SS Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, telling jokes, casino hopping, attending garage sales, rummage sales and auctions.

Survivors include his sister and best friend, Martha Schimelfining, Antigo; special friend Andrea Place; many nieces and nephews;

He was known as “Dad” to some, “Grandpa” by many and loved by all.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Ray, Daniel, Bernard, Martin, Leo, John, and Paul Spychalla.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday April 22, 2016 at 12 noon at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church in Antigho with Rev. David Schmidt officiating.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and on Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home, Antigo. A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
