Mark Sturm

Mark Sturm, age 62, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born May 9, 1953 in Wausau to the late Ellart and Marcella (Krueger) Sturm. On October 13, 1973 he and Patty Sturm were united in marriage in Wausau. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2016.

Mark attended Wausau High School, now known as Wausau East. Mark worked on the family dairy farm until 2001. Over the years he worked as a truck driver for various places. Mark also hobby farmed until 2015. He enjoyed all types of hunting and trapping. Mark liked being out in the woods making firewood and enjoying nature. He liked to collect antique farm equipment, especially John Deere. Mark enjoyed watching NASCAR and truck and tractor pulls. He liked to spend time fishing, four wheeling and camping with family and friends. Mark was a hard worker but also enjoyed having fun. He loved family gatherings with his children and grandchildren. Mark was fun loving and playful with his grandchildren. He was an active member of the Lincoln County Sportsmans Club and a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his four children: Jason (Terri) Sturm, Wausau, Jennifer (Jason) Lemmer, Merrill, Jamie (Chad) Mathwich, Marathon, and Jeremy (Katie) Sturm, Wausau; nine grandchildren: Devin, Bryce, Cody, Mariah, Hailey, Brayden, Caden, Sydney and August; three sisters: Carolyn (Ken) Frank, Marilyn Driscoll, and Barbara (Randy) Jordan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellart and Marcella Sturm, wife Patty Sturm, and brother-in-law Larry Driscoll.

A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Waid Funeral Home. A Service of Prayer and support for the Sturm family will be held at 7 PM following the visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or to Lincoln County Sportsmans Club. Marks family has peace knowing he helped save lives by being an organ donor.
