After a tough loss to Stevens Point Pacelli on Thursday, the Tomahawk boys hockey team bounced back with a 7-0 triumph over Chequamegon.
“These boys really showed what they are capable of as a team tonight!” THS coach Chris Bembinster said. “That was by far the most complete game of the season. The passing display they put on tonight was awesome. I hope we can ride this wave of confidence into our last few games and then the playoffs!”
The Hatchets ripped off three goals in each of the first two periods to take a commanding 6-0 lead.
In the opening frame, Jakob Panzer (A- Brett Gerber, Steven Renn), Kole Woodall (A- Hunter Jones) and Jordan Tomaszewski (A- Kaleb Wegner, Panzer) put THS on the board. In the second, Jones (a- Patrick Setala, Wegner), Max Bembinster (A- Renn) and Panzer (A- Renn) worked together. Tomaszewski scored unassisted in the third.

Cardinal rules
The Hatchets fell 5-1 to Stevens Point Pacelli on Thursday in an otherwise relatively even game.
“We just had trouble finding the back of the net,” THS coach Chris Bembinster said. “The boys didn’t have their worst game or their best game. We have to find a way to become the team that is sitting right in front of us.”
Pacelli out-shot Tomahawk just 35-26, but a three-goal second period gave the Cardinals a 4-0 lead. Tomahawk cut it to 4-1 just 36 seconds into the third period on a Renn goal (A- Panzer), but Pacelli added a final score a few minutes later.
Saves– THS- Hanke 10-13-7–30. SPP- Kolbeck 8-7-10–25.
