Information sought on missing road signs

The Town of Harding in western Lincoln County is experiencing thefts and deputies are looking for the public’s help in solving them. In the last few weeks several sets of road signs were stolen off posts in the township. Roads missing signs include West End Road, Tesch Road, Whiskey Bill Road, Cranberry Trail, Forks Road, Ollhoff Road, several signs for County Rd. E and at least one stop sign. Some of the signs have been found on Lake Alexander where they were placed on the makeshift ice road. Besides criminal responsibility, if a crash results from a missing sign the thief could be held liable. If you have any information on the person(s) responsible for these thefts you are asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 715-536-6272. Callers may also call Crime Stoppers at 715-536-3726. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
