The Bluejay girls took control at Wausau East on Friday night, using an 18-0 run to start the second half for a 50-17 lead. The lead reached 40 points later in the half and the Jays finished with a 71-29 triuph.
Four Merrill girls reached double figures – Morgan Pettit (12), Maddix Bonnell (11), Emily Page (10) and Rylee Folz (10) – and Lindsey Casper (9) and Chelsey LaMonica (8) got close.
The Bluejay girls are in a second-place tie in the Valley with D. C. Everest. Both have a 6-2 mark.
