Felony cases filed
Thomas J. Kasper, 19, Merrill, was charged Dec. 17 with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and dealer in possession of untaxed controlled substance. According to court records, officers found a total of 83 grams of marijuana in Kasper’s Merrill residence on Dec. 3. There was also evidence he had been making hash oil. Merrill police were acting on information they had received that Kasper had a large amount of marijuana in his residence.

Eric L. Burgener, 33, Merrill, was charged Dec. 22 with possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping. According to court records, Burgener was taken into custody on a probation hold Dec. 21. He was found to have a hypodermic needle in his pocket. When booked into the Lincoln County Jail, suboxone and methamphetamine were also found in his possession.

Timothy Leggett, 48, Tomahawk, was charged Dec. 21 with two counts of felony bail jumping. According to court records, Leggett was found to be drinking alcohol in violation of his bond on Dec. 20. He was released after posting a $500 cash bond.

Garret S. Beckman, 24, Irma, was charged Dec. 21 with vehicle operator flee/elude officer and resisting/obstructing an officer. According to court records, Lincoln County deputies attempted to stop Beckman’s vehicle Dec. 18 on Cty. E. Beckman pulled into a driveway and fled on foot into the woods. He was taken into custody nearby a short time later.

Jonathon P. Schlachter, 33, Tomahawk, was charged Dec. 21 with OWI (4th in 5 years). According to court records, Schlachter was stopped by an officer on Hwy. 51 Dec. 20 after he was observed speeding and swerving.

Haley L. Jadzewski, 18, Tomahawk, was charged Dec. 18 with substantial battery-intend bodily harm, child abuse-intentionally cause harm and disorderly conduct. According to court records, Jadzewski assaulted a 16-year-old female at Memorial Park in Tomahawk on Sept. 18, 2015. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries. She told officers she was attacked by Jadzewski and a 15-year-old female. Jadzewski and the victim reportedly had an ongoing conflict over a boyfriend. The 15-year-old has been referred to Lincoln County Juvenile Court on charges of substantial battery and disorderly conduct. Jadzewski’s mother, Tammy S. Taves, 41, Tomahawk, was also charged Dec. 20 in connection with the Sept. 18 incident. Taves faces charges of substantial battery-intend bodily harm, child abuse-intentionally cause harm, child abuse-fail to prevent bodily harm, contributing to the delinquency of a child and disorderly conduct. According to court records, Taves drove Jadzewski and the 15-year-old to the park to confront the victim. She also encouraged them to assault the other girl.

Roman J. Franco, 18, Merrill, was charged Dec. 18 with burglary and theft. According to court records, Franco entered a garage in the city of Merrill in September 2015 and stole a BMX bicycle worth $800. The bike was recovered from a wooded area nearby, where Franco had hidden it.

Amanda H, Korzinek, 24, Tomahawk, was charged Dec. 18 with manufacture/deliver amphetamine. According to court records, Korzinek sold 21 capsules of a prescription drive, Vyvanase, to a Tomahawk police informant in February 2015.

James F. Baird, 50, Gowen, Mich., was charged Dec. 17 with two counts of battery by prisoner. According to court records, Baird got into a physical altercation with two corrections officers at the Lincoln County Jail, where he was an inmate, on Nov. 18, 2015. Baird reportedly punched a corrections officer in the face after being told to return a food tray. The officer deployed a taser, but it was ineffective. A female officer who was attempting to assist, was kicked by Baird.

Cody G. Robertson, 19, Merrill, was charged Dec. 29 with disorderly conduct and strangulation/suffocation. He was released on a $3,000 signature bond. According to court records, Robertson was involved in a physical altercation with a female at a town of Corning residence on Dec. 28.

Robert G. Spransy, 32, Merrill, was charged Dec. 28 with resisting/obstructing an officer and felony bail jumping. He was released on a $2,500 signature bond and a $500 cash bond. According to court records, Merrill police responded to a report of a suspicious person on West Main Street Dec. 23. When officers arrived, Spransy fled on foot and went down an embankment to the Prairie River. He was unable to get back up the embankment on his own. With the help of Merrill Fire Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and citizens, they were able to use a rope to get him back up the hill. He was found to be intoxicated in violation of an open felony bond.

Kendarious K. Ambrose, 16, Lincoln Hills School, was charged Dec. 18 with battery by prisoner (party to a crime) and physical abuse of a child (party to a crime). According to court records, Ambrose punched and stomped another youth at Lincoln Hills in August 2015.
