Geneva B. Endres

Geneva B. Endres, 85, Marathon, died Saturday, December 12, 2015 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Copperleaf Assisted Living, Marathon. She was born January 21, 1930 in Wausau, daughter of the late Reinhold and Adela (Schoenherr) Schmidt. On October 18, 1952 she married John Endres Jr. at St. Francis Catholic Church, Merrill. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1969. Geneva farmed in Edgar with John until 1969 then moved to Merrill in 1970 where she worked in the Merrill Community before moving to Marathon where she was employed at Marathon Cheese. Geneva was proud that she had gone back to school later in life and obtained a CNA. She enjoyed knitting and making quilts but above all she cherished time spent with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Ed (Polly) Endres, Mosinee, Karen (Dean) Dahlke, Tomahawk, Myron (Colleen) Endres, Marathon, Kris (Jim) Lokemoen, Merrill and Kim (Carl) Wilichowski, Marathon; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Eileen Buntrock, Merrill. Besides her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by a brother, Orville Schmidt, two sisters, Carol Guenther and Donna Winkelman and a great-granddaughter, Rachel Latzig. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon W. Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in the Edgar Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
