Merrill Police Department reports

November 30
3:11 p.m.- An officer took a report of a shoplifting incident at a local business. A suspect was identified and the investigation is ongoing.
4:14 p.m.- Officers were requested by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections to respond to the 1000 block of East First Street and take a male subject into custody for a probation violation. The male subject was taken into custody and transported to the jail.
December 1
4:21 p.m.- Officers responded to a local business for a report of a theft of several items. A Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputy located the suspect vehicle and stopped it. The stolen items were recovered and a male subject was taken into custody on a warrant from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The investigation is ongoing.
8:32 p.m.- An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after it was observed driving without its headlights on during the hours of darkness. The driver was identified and found to have a revoked driving status. The male subject was taken into custody for operating after revocation, bail jumping and a probation hold.
December 2
2:37 p.m.- Officers located a female on Prospect Street who had an active warrant. The female was arrested and taken to the jail.
5:26 p.m.- An officer investigated a theft complaint on Genessee Street. The investigation is ongoing.
6:46 p.m.- Officers conducted a search warrant in the 600 block of Memorial Drive. Three adults were taken into custody for various drug offenses, including Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Two children were also removed from the residence for temporary placement.
December 3
4:12 a.m.- An officer conducted a traffic stop after it was found that the driver had a suspended driver’s license. During the course of the investigation, items of drug paraphernalia and marijuana were located. Charges will be forthcoming.
9:48 a.m.- Officers were requested in the 1000 block of East First Street to take a male subject into custody on a probation hold. The male subject was taken into custody and taken to the jail.
4:38 p.m.- An officer took a report of a violation of a court order after a male subject sent a Christmas card to another individual whom there was a restraining order in place between the two. The male admitted to sending the card and he will be charged with violating the restraining order.
7:35 p.m.- Officers took a report of male subject that had a large amount of marijuana in his residence as well as several items of drug paraphernalia. During the course of the investigation, officers discovered a large amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at the residence. The male subject will be charged with possession of THC with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
December 4
10:29 a.m.- Officers received information that two individuals that had active warrants for their arrest through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections were at a residence in the City of Merrill. The individuals inside of the residence refused to answer the door. Based on information obtained through different sources, including the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, a search warrant was executed on the residence. The two subjects that had the warrants were located inside and arrested for the warrants as well as for resisting arrest.
6:07 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to a residence for a report of a male subject that was causing a disturbance. Officers arrived and found that the male subject had gotten into an altercation with his mother and sister. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and two counts of battery.
10:17 p.m.- Officers went to a residence to attempt to locate a male subject who active warrants for his arrest through the Lincoln County Courts and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The male subject was found to not be at the residence. The male subject had an open bond requiring that he must be home between specified hours. He will be referred for charges of felony bail jumping.
December 5
2:37 a.m.- An officer on patrol observed a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limits and deviating from his lane of travel. The vehicle was stopped and the driver displayed signs indicative of impairment. Field sobriety tests were attempted and he was eventually arrested for operating while under the influence 3rd offense.
3:28 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to a residence for a report of a domestic disturbance taking place. A male subject was arrested for several charges including disorderly conduct, battery, strangulation, intimidation of a victim and resisting arrest.
December 6
12:48 a.m.- An officer was approached by a female subject who indicated that her ex-boyfriend had gone to her residence and broke several items without her permission. The male suspect was located and admitted to breaking the items. The female chose to not be a victim in this matter.
8:34 a.m.- An officer was dispatched to a residence after a male subject called to report that a bucket full of his dog’s feces was taken and the fecal matter then thrown on the roof of a neighboring business. The youths were observed on video camera taking the bucket. The youths were identified and the matter was cleaned up after the youths apologized as well.
7:39 p.m.- An officer took a report of a ball hitch assembly that was stolen off of a vehicle. No suspects are known at this time.
11:03 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to a residence for a noise complaint. The individuals were identified and one of the parties was found to have an active warrant for their arrest through Oneida County. The male subject was taken into custody for the warrant and transported to the jail.
