Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reports

A 61-year-old Merrill man was arrested Monday morning after deputies responded to a reported disturbance in the Town of Merrill. When deputies arrived they learned the intoxicated suspect was making threats. He was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. He was brought to the Lincoln County Jail where he was able to post bond and be released.
A 26-year-old Merrill man was arrested early Thursday morning on multiple charges after a disturbance was reported in the Town of Merrill. When a deputy arrived the male suspect resisted the deputy’s efforts to determine what had taken place. A Merrill Police Officer assisted at the scene in taking the man into custody. Deputies confirmed damaged to the building the man was renting. The male was brought to the Lincoln County Jail where he was charged with a felony count of bail jumping, two counts of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. At a bond hearing on Friday he was held on a $2.000 cash bond.
A 34-year-old Wausau man was arrested on Friday evening after deputies assisted EMS on a call on the highway. A caller requested an ambulance for a medical emergency along State Rd. 17 in the Town of Schley. A check on the male showed he was wanted by the Oneida County Sheriff for contempt of court and the man later admitted to deputies he had been consuming drugs in violation of his probation rules. The man was brought to the Lincoln County Jail and held.
A deputy escaped injury but a patrol car was damaged after an incident in the Town of Merrill Saturday evening. Just after 7 p.m., the deputy had responded to a crash involving a pickup truck and a deer on US Hwy. 51 near County Rd. G just outside of Merrill. The deputy took the report and was typing information into his computer as a tow company was loading the truck onto a flatbed wrecker when the tow strap broke causing the truck to crash into the front of the marked patrol car. The Merrill Police Department assisted at the scene.
A 36-year-old Merrill man was arrested Sunday on a probation violation charge. Deputies went to the man’s home in the Town of Pine River after the Wisconsin Department of Corrections reported he had violated his electronic monitor rules. The man was brought to the jail and held.
The number of car deer crashes is down slightly with 10 being reported.
