It wasn’t a home meet, but it was as close as it gets on the road.

The Merrill girls swim team faced Wausau West at John Muir Junior High in last Thursday’s dual meet, and their limited team pushed within a 116-48 score.

Caitlyn Kolehouse won the 50 free in :27.28, and ranked second in the 100 free in 1:01.73 after getting touched out at the finish. Kendyl Pettit ranked 2nd in the 100 back (1:13.24) and 3rd in the 500 free (6:16.44).

Katy Ball placed 3rd in both the 200 IM (2:55.16) and 100 fly (1:24.89). Rachel Hoeppner swam 3rd in the 100 brea (1:29.09).

The Jays ranked 2nd in the 200 medley relay with Pettit, Hoeppner, Kolehouse and Kaytlin Woller (2:15.78).

They were 3rd in both other relays, the 200 free (Kolehouse, Ball, Woller, Pettit, 2:01.31) and 400 free (Faith Wheat, Rianna Dowds, Michele Evans, Alexis Kanitz, 5:12.25).
