Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reports

A 32-year-old Tomahawk woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after a traffic stop in the Town of Bradley. A deputy stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on US Hwy. 51 at Crass Road just after midnight. A check on one of the passengers showed she was wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for violating terms of her probation. The woman was brought to the Lincoln County Jail and held.
A 17-year-old Merrill man will be summonsed into court after a deputy investigated a burglary in the Town of Merrill on Wednesday. A resident on Memorial Drive reported entry had been made to his locked garage and a child’s bike was stolen. A deputy followed up on several leads and identified a suspect. When contact was made with the suspect he admitted to stealing the bike, he led the deputy to where the bike was hidden in the woods on County Rd. G. The bike was returned to the victim.
The number of crashes involving deer remains high with nine being reported this past week. Also a Price County woman struck a turkey on Monday afternoon on US Hwy. 8 in the Town of Wilson. Her vehicle had to be towed from the scene. A Tomahawk man struck a turkey on Sunday afternoon on County Rd. CC just north of the city of Tomahawk.
