Dump truck driver cited for foul dump

Thursday afternoon, officers responded to a report of a male behaving in a disorderly manner on West 10th Street.
Upon arrival, officers met with the reporting party who indicated observing a dump truck driver defecate on the street near his truck, in front of her home.
The driver then climbed into his truck and departed.
According to officer notes, contact was made with the company operating the dump truck and identified the driver as Scott Calverley.

Contact was made via telephone with Calverley who reportedly admitted to the act, stating he “could not hold it” and could not make it to a portable toilet which was located a block away.
Calverley reportedly stated he was unable to climb into the box of his truck and “tried to make sure no one could see” when he relieved himself.
The officer reportedly advised Calverley to return to Merrill to clean up after himself and pick up a Disorderly Conduct citation.
According to further notes from the officer involved, upon meeting with Calverley, he was upset and called the citation a joke. He stated he had already cleaned up his mess prior to the officer’s investigation.
The citation was later mailed to Calverley.
