July 27
8:28 a.m.- A caller reported someone struck his vehicle and fled the scene while the vehicle was parked at his place of employment. The officer will be reviewing surveillance video to attempt to identify a suspect.
10:39 a.m.- A store discovered a female had stolen a computer from their store over the weekend. The suspect and her companion were captured on surveillance video. The officer has a possible suspect and will continue investigating.
12:35 p.m.- A caller reported someone entered two unlocked vehicles they own sometime in the past three days. Nothing was reported missing.
1:09 p.m.- A caller reported receiving a letter from a male she wants nothing to do with. The man walked into her apartment the previous day uninvited. The caller at that time did not wish to speak to an officer but since changed her mind after receiving the unwanted letter. The officer spoke to the man who admitted he walked into her apartment uninvited. The officer will be completing a criminal charge against the man.
1:38 p.m.- A female approached an officer who was investigating a vehicle entry to report her unlocked vehicle was also entered sometime in the past week. She reported nothing was missing.
4:21 p.m.- A caller reported her three-year-old grandson had gotten his head stuck between rungs of a chair and she was seeking assistance. The grandson got his head unstuck by the time the officer arrived on scene.
July 28
12:59 a.m.- A caller reported that his vehicle had been entered and $80 was reported missing.
9:44 a.m.- Officers investigated a potential domestic disturbance reported by a neighbor who overheard a male and female party yelling in a nearby house. Officers made contact with the two parties inside the residence and the male party was arrested for his actions related to the argument and physical contact with the female party. During the course of the investigation officers identified a marijuana plant growing within the residence. The investigating officer will be pursuing charges related to the marijuana plant.
11:38 a.m.- Officers received information related to a wanted person. Officers identified the person and they were taken into custody.
3:49 p.m.- Officers responded to a report of a damaged vehicle. Caller stated that she believed the vehicle had been jumped on intentionally by another party. The caller provided a list of possible suspects for officers to follow up with.
4:38 p.m.- An officer responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of East Main Street and Stuyvesant Street. Officers found that neither party on scene was at fault for the accident. Both on scene parties stated that an unknown vehicle was stopped at a section of the intersection which did not have stop sign causing confusion. The two parties left their stop signs simultaneously causing the crash.
4:47 p.m.- Officers responded to a bar on Grand Avenue for a report of a stolen bike. Patrons of the bar stated that a male had taken the bike without permission. Officers later located the bike and it was returned to the owner. The suspect had taken the bike thinking it was a bike that he owned which was similar.
1:58 p.m.- Officers responded to check on the welfare of a female. Officers determined by the information given from friends that the female was not seen since the prior Sunday. Officers breached the door to the residence and located the female party within the residence in need of medical attention. Medical assistance was provided to the female party by Merrill Fire Department.
July 31
8:31 a.m.- A female was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
10:42 p.m.- A caller reported a fight at a tavern. Officers responded and found one male who had fallen outside the tavern. There is suspected to be a minor scuffle between another male and female, however nothing that rose to the level of an arrest. An ambulance was requested to have the man who fell evaluated.
August 1
12:12 a.m.- A fight was report outside of a tavern. Upon arrival an officer spoke with one male who reported he had been rough-housing with a friend and another male misinterpreted their activity as fighting and responded by trying to break them up. Officers departed and a short time later could hear yelling from outside the tavern. An officer observed the same male urinating in public. The man was arrested for disorderly conduct.
6:52 a.m.- A caller reported someone had stolen an antique hitching post from outside her residence sometime overnight.
5:39 p.m.- A caller reported a crash in a parking lot at a gas station. A vehicle pulling a boat struck a parked vehicle with the boat as the driver had turned too sharp. A crash report was completed.
