Johnson brothers earn Eagle Scout rank

Benjamin Johnson, age 17, earned his Eagle Scout rank on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015. Ben has completed 23 Merit Badges, 13 of which are Eagle required. He has served as Troop Librarian, Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, and Webmaster. Ben has also served as Den Chief for Pack 502 for the past three years. For his Eagle Scout Service project, Ben organized, planned and led scouts and leaders to redo 12 picnic tables for Council Grounds State Park. This involved taking old wood off, sanding and painting the frames, and putting new boards on.
Jacob Johnson, age 15, earned his Eagle Scout rank on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Jacob has completed 21 Merit Badges, 13 of which are Eagle required. He has served as Troop Scribe, Librarian, Webmaster, Patrol Leader, and Assistant Patrol Leader. Jacob has also served as Den Chief for Pack 502 for the past two years. For his Eagle Scout Service project, Jacob organized, planned and led scouts and leaders to build 12 Wood Duck Houses for Council Grounds State Park.
Both Ben and Jacob are active members of Boy Scout Troop 599. They have been involved with the Haunted Sawmill for the past four years, been on many camping trips, participated in the annual Scouting for Food, and helped with several other Eagle Scout projects. Ben also attended the 2013 National Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Beckley, West Virginia.
Ben and Jacob will be presented their Eagle Scout pin at their Eagle Court of Honor on Saturday, July 11. Ben and Jacob are the sons of John and Wendy Johnson.
