Why should kids have all the fun?

The Lincoln County Reads Adult Summer Library Program is underway at T.B. Scott Free Library, where you can win prizes just for reading. Last year, 61 of 178 contest entrants won prizes, selected from a record 739 entries.
For the tenth consecutive year, T.B. Scott Library and Tomahawk Public Library are co-sponsoring Lincoln County Reads through Aug. 27 to encourage and reward reading by adults. This year’s theme is “Escape the Ordinary.”
Entering is easy. If you’re at least age 18, read or listen to any fiction or nonfiction work as a print book, ebook or audiobook. Get Escape the Ordinary entry forms at the library, write down titles of five books you’ve enjoyed on each form, and drop completed forms in an entry box at the library. Enter up to 50 times.
Winners in three regular prize drawings, on June 26, July 24, and Aug. 14, will be announced at 8:45 a.m. on WJMT 730AM The Patriot’s Our Town program, and notified by phone. Each reader may win in a regular drawing once per contest.
Hardee’s, Johnson Gifts & Home Décor, Hugo’s Pizza, Young’s Drug Store, Culver’s, Ye Olde Sweet Shoppe, Family Chiropractic Clinic, Les & Jim’s Lincoln Lanes, Auto Jockeys, and the Friends of T.B. Scott Library have generously donated contest prizes.
New this summer, every entrant gets a gift card for five free cups of coffee from The Goblin Workshop Coffee Shop and Tabletop Gaming Guild. Pick up your gift card at the library’s lower level entry station.
All entries are eligible to be the Grand Prize winner—earning a basket of prizes from contest sponsors—who will be announced live on WJMT 730AM The Patriot’s Our Town program on Friday, Aug. 28 at 8:45 a.m.
Why reading contests? Reading can be useful and/or enjoyable—but reading is also critical to developing an informed and involved citizenry. The library is proud to sponsor reading contests to encourage and reward reading by all ages.
