Damon M. Johnson, age 13, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 21, 2015 in Merrill. He was born September 11, 2001 in Merrill to Cris Johnson and Rebekah Leder.
Damon attended DC Everest Junior High. He enjoyed go-cart racing and playing video games with his friends. Damon also enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, making firewood, mowing lawn or just enjoying nature. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends Jesse, Devon, and Dante.
Survivors include his parents: Cris (Tanya Slozes) Johnson and Rebekah Leder; two sisters: Alexia Pophal and Katie Johnson; step-brother: Stephen Pophal; grandparents: great-grandpa Jim Young, Thomas (Martha) Johnson and Pappa Bill; three aunts: Tammy (Rick Schultz) Woellner, Jamie (Brad Becker) Leder and Ranay (Paul) Myers; three uncles: Charlie Dosher, Mike (Tera Brandt) Leder II and Mike (Barb) Ritchie; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa Mike Leder and great-grandma Mary Ann Young.
Funeral Services for Damon will be held at 11 AM Friday, June 26, 2015 at Waid Funeral Home. Rev. William Hohman will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 25 from 3-7 PM and again Friday from 10 AM until the time of service, all at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. John Baptist Cemetery in the town of Schley.
