Lincoln County deputies have taken four people into custody and all have been formally charged following an investigation into a home invasion robbery in the Town of Bradley, north of Tomahawk.
The investigation began after one of the suspects reported to law enforcement that he was the victim of a robbery that took place while he was riding in a vehicle on US Hwy. 8 north of Tomahawk. During the course of the investigation, deputies interviewed multiple witnesses, suspects and victims.
According to reports, the four suspects traveled to a home on Deer Lake Road in Tomahawk on the morning of March 25, 2015 with the intent of committing a robbery. Three of the suspects entered the home, one with a hatchet, and one with a crowbar and all were wearing bandanas in order to hide their faces. The fourth suspect (Mason) acted as the get-a-way driver.
Once inside of the home the three suspects got into a physical altercation with some of the home’s residents, one of which was struck over the head with the hatchet multiple times. That victim agreed to open a safe to retrieve valuables but instead he retrieved a handgun from the safe and struck one of the suspects multiple times causing injury. This eventually led that suspect to report the incident to law enforcement claiming to be the victim in order to explain to his family his injuries.
A second victim/witness produced a shotgun and struck one of the suspects in the head with that weapon causing the wooden end to shatter. The victim then simulated loading the shotgun which caused all suspects to flee.
Deputies who investigated the case noted it took considerable time to charge the suspects due to the number of people involved and the initial reports from the suspects who came forward as victims or as witnesses only.
The Tomahawk Police Department conducted a sweep and took the three suspects who remained at large into custody on Tuesday, they included:
• Dalvin R. Sanders, 20, of Tomahawk was arrested on Tuesday. He was charged on Wednesday in Lincoln County Court with felony counts of armed robbery, aggravated battery, burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon; as well as a misdemeanor count of battery. He appeared in court on Wednesday where he was charged with felony counts of aggravated battery, burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon and armed robbery.
