LeRoy E. Brose
LeRoy E. Brose, age 81, of Merrill passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
LeRoy was born August 4, 1933, in Bemidji, Minnesota, son of the late Theodore and Rose (Loch) Brose. He married Barbara Nervik on June 29, 1958. She survives. LeRoy served with the United States Army and was stationed stateside. He was the owner/operator of J.W. Perry, Inc., a wholesale floral distributorship, with locations in Merrill, Wisconsin, Des Moines, Iowa, Moorhead, Minnesota, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was also the owner/operator of Brose’s Flower Center, Merrill. LeRoy enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, and traveling. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He was a member of the Merrill Noon Lions Club and the Merrill Rotary Club. During his business career and also in his personal life, LeRoy supported several philanthropic projects throughout the Merrill area benefiting both community and individuals.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Brose of Merrill; two daughters, Sondra Engel and Holly Brose (Mike Pfund) both of Merrill; three sons, Frank (Barb) Brose of Tomahawk, Greg Brose (Nancy Folkedahl) of West Bend, and Don Brose of Tomahawk; sixteen grandchildren, Austin, Sierra, Kerry, Emily, Nicholas, LeRoy, Joe, Jake, Roddy, Roseanne, Carrie, Kayla, Brooke, Calla, Jaxsen, and Meadow; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Randi Barrie of Port Orchard, Washington, and Beverly (Ernest) Holloway of Wichita Falls, Texas; and one brother, Orville Brose of Republic, Washington. Besides his parents, LeRoy is preceded in death by a sister, Hjordis Ames, and a brother, Ted Brose, Jr.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 4, 2015, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Kevin Hoogland will officiate. Entombment will take place in Merrill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home.
