Leone S. Woller, age 86, of Merrill, passed away on Saturday, April 18 at Wausau Manor Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. She was born December 31, 1928 in Butternut, WI to the late Oscar and Irma (Nutting) Schaper. Leone and Lawrence Woller were united in marriage in Park Falls, WI on August 21, 1948. He preceded her in death February 10, 2010.
Leone graduated from Butternut High School. She was a homemaker. Leone was very crafty and enjoyed crocheting doll dresses and star and snowflake ornaments as well as making ornaments from sequins and beads. She was a big sports fan, following her favorite teams in baseball (the Cubs and Brewers) hockey and football but really, she loved watching all sports. Leone loved looking at photo albums and remembering the good ole days. She raised a wonderful family and enjoyed spending time with them. Leone also loved spending time with her beloved dog, Frankie. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill.
Survivors include her three children: Larry (Colleen) Woller, Cher (Ron) Kulawinski, all of Merrill, and Roger (Kathleen) Woller, Rhinelander; two grandchildren: Rick Kulawinski and Carrie (Jeremy) Cordova, all of Merrill; two great-grandchildren: Lily and Owen; sister: Patricia Renner, Milwaukee; two brothers: Darrel Schaper, Ely, MN, and Neil (Nita) Schaper, Pewaukee; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog Frankie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Lawrence, three brothers: Howard, Dick and Bob Schaper and an infant sister, Diana.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 23, 2014 at Waid Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joel Danner will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in Leone’s name to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice for their wonderful care of Leone.
