Russell Fire Department rolls out Rescue 1

The Town of Russell Fire Department announces a new addition to its fleet with Rescue 1, an off road ATV.
“This unit allows us to conduct rescue operations to patients who may find themselves in remote locations,” said Chief Robert P. Kressel. “It has already been utilized a few times, and this unit has really made a difference in removing patients out in the field.
The Polaris Ranger was specifically modified to allow the transport of patients from remote locations, and allow the seating of a medic.
This addition to the Town of Russell Fire Department was made possible through a very generous donation by the Richard David family, and the trailer used to transport the Rescue unit was donated by Gene Bagley of Bagley Trailer Sales.
“As a volunteer fire department, we are only as good as the members who serve on the department, and through the incredible support we receive in the community,” Kressel said.
The Town of Russell Fire Department serves the towns of Birch, Russell, Schley and the southern half of Harrison in Lincoln County, and the towns of Parrish and Summit in Langlade County.
