Pine River home destroyed by fire
The Pine River Fire Department responded to a house fire on Cty. WW just after 9 p.m. Friday night. According to a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office press release, the house was engulfed in flames when crews arrived.
No one was inside the residence, however the family cat did not survive the fire.
The Pine River Fire Department was assisted by the Town of Hewitt, Town of Texas and Merrill fire departments. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin Public Service also assisted at the scene.
The American Red Cross responded to help the family of three displaced by the fire. Emergency assistance provided at this time included food and lodging. Two members of the Red Cross disaster action team responded to provide assistance. The home was a total loss.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation, however does not appear suspicious.
